First of all thank everyone for the messages, calls and prayers. We’re almost to Knoxville where we hope I can get into surgery. In Roanoke they didn’t have a facial surgeon to operate but they wouldn’t let me leave either. I can’t swallow to get any fluids so they left me on an iv. but they gave me better drugs. I was trying to make it home but couldnt make it. I took 6 Percocets in five hours overnight and they didn’t do a thing.

I guess I should say what happened. I was tubing with two other guys on the intercostal waterway in north Carolina. The driver met a tugboat and swung us into the enormous wake and we went airborne. I don’t know what I hit but it broke my jaw in two at the chin. Everyone else was ok.

I hope they can do something in Knoxville. The doctors we’ve looked up say to call their office on Tuesday. This is a mess. But we’re okay and feel very well surrounded by friends and family. Thanks again everybody
