Hazel goes vagabondia, goes light blue

The Oklahoma house is nearing the final stretch.  The ladies picked out the final foundation color, and as you can see it was a bit of a committee decision.

I do as I’m told.  And as my friend Luis (a very good painter) says when asked his opinion, “If you like it, we love it.”

Since these pictures from Tuesday afternoon the gutters are done, the foundation almost done, and after a misunderstanding of  instructions from my darling wife who muttered in her sleep very early in the morning on Wednesday, the corner trim pieces and triangles inside the gables are done in the wrong color.  I used the foundation color, and I did a very nice job.  I will be repainting them all the porch ceiling color in the morning, which I now understand clearly.  And with that, the house will be painted.

But then there’s the whole porch repair.

We had special guests yesterday who arrived on Harley’s bound for New Orleans. We had a family day today and sooner or later Tuck is going to be cruising on a Harley Softail with his grandmother.

Let me go back this photo, just one more time.

In other news, my truck will be out of the body shop tomorrow.  (From the wreck a month ago).  Enterprise gave me a rental car that smelled like cigarettes, I’m giving it back to them smelling like four sweaty painters and a few sharpie marker touch ups.
