this is like, but not quite the one I posted a couple weeks ago
I’m glad last week is over. Possessions are weighty things and surrounding yourself in them with hopes of liquidation for a few days is an unhealthy place to stay, I think. For six days.
We put our house back together tonight and gave the rest away. Goodwill a lot of it, but not all. There’s a guy that has my same truck down the street and I offered to give him my bed cover. We’ve never met and he thought it was weird. Then we talked about gas mileage, how hard it is to reach the oil filter, that it’s nice to throw kids in the back seat, those sort of things. A coffee table and some lamps we gave to Alexander on the corner.
I put a waterski on Knox’s porch this morning. He’d mentioned making a longboard perhaps. Then I mailed 11 packages to our eBay winners.
And with that, we are back to a more open space and enjoying a soul with a good clean scrub. Or maybe not a soul, but the room for the soul.
