odd jobs, a tv show, and 40 years of love

Good morning and welcome to the first monday of Autumn.  Ashley is upstairs stirring, taking a sleepy bite out of Anna Karenina.  I’m waiting to hear back about my odd job situation for today.  Either porch painting or shoveling gravel, whoever gets me first.

Tomorrow I’d like to personally invite you to watch me on 11 O’Clock Rock at knoxivi.com.  Knoxivi.com is internet broadcasting program hosted by Brent Thompson and Lauren Lazarus.  It will be their 498th show, just a couple days short of the 500th episode extravaganza.

Yesterday we went to a cabin in Wears Valley to celebrate the 40th year celebration and wedding vow renewal of Dan and Mary Butler.  They lead Global Seeds, an organization which helps relocated Muslim Communities in Knoxville.

A 40 year marriage is something you don’t see everyday.  They exchanged loving words that inspired everyone present.

Thanks for the introduction to a fantastic organization. Some of my son’s classmates at his school are refugees from the Middle East and Africa, and they seem to be adjusting to life in America really well. It’s important for Knoxvillians to know just how much diversity and good folks we have in this sleepy college town.
